Scape

An abstract cityscape, a view from a plain window, showing the colours of city lights in an abstract manner by splashes of vibrant colours and impasto palette knife strokes. I have tried to capture the essence of the subject, mostly an inner impression and a personal perception.

This piece represents my exploration into abstract expressionism, where traditional cityscape boundaries dissolve into energetic bursts of color and texture. The impasto technique creates dimensional depth, allowing light to interact with the surface in dynamic ways that mirror the ever-changing urban landscape.

Working with acrylics on a 2x3 feet canvas gave me the freedom to build layers of meaning and emotion. Each palette knife stroke carries intention, translating the chaos and beauty of city life into a visual symphony. The vibrant color splashes represent not just lights, but the energy, movement, and pulse of urban existence viewed through a deeply personal lens.

Completed in 2022, this artwork has found its permanent home with a collector who connected with its expressive interpretation of metropolitan life. While this particular piece is sold, I'm always excited to create commissioned abstract works that capture your unique perspective and vision.
